BUSINESS DESCRIPTION:
Charlottetown Civic Centre is located on the edge of downtown Charlottetown and is physically attached to the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre. Officially opened in February 1990, the Charlottetown Civic Centre was built as two facilities (Arena and Trade Centre) for the 1991 Canada Winter Games. As a multipurpose facility, our focus is to host premiere events for Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island; contributing to the city and province’s reputation as an event destination. Charlottetown Civic Centre Management Inc. A dedicated team of staff and stakeholders ensure the annual success of the Charlottetown Civic Centre. Management works closely with a small, responsive board of directors to attract a diverse range of individuals, services, programs and events. This strong, ongoing relationship reflects what the public values, needs and expects from the Charlottetown Civic Centre. Using a creative and innovative approach, Charlottetown Civic Centre management brings in new programs and events and enhances the delivery of recurring ones. It is a collaborative effort with partners: the City of Charlottetown (owner of the arena); the Province of Prince Edward Island (owner of the Trade Centre); and Atlantic Lottery Corporation (owner of the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre). Through this consultative partnership, the Charlottetown Civic Centre achieves its goal of providing pride, wellness and a strong economy to Prince Edward Island.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
The Charlottetown Civic Centre Arena is ideally suited to hosting sporting, concert, social, meeting, and trade events. The Trade Centre’s showpiece is its Main Exhibition Hall. It is the second largest fixed single room east of Quebec, covers one full acre and offers great flexibility for event planners.

MEETING & CONVENTION FACILITIES:
The Trade Centre features a 42,000 square foot Main Exhibition Hall with 25 foot clearance, drivethru doors and loading dock. Five additional meeting rooms and reception areas complete the venue. 1,000 amps, 600 volts, 3 phase power, telephone circuits, water and drains are easily accessible. The Arena features 3,717 fixed seats and 1,000 portable seats can be added on the 200’ x 85’ 17,000 square foot floor. An additional 1,400 amps of power is available, luxury boxes, 3 press boxes and seven dressing rooms.

DINING FACILITIES: There are four canteens located throughout the main arena level. The licensed Centre Ice Lounge is on the 2nd floor.

BUSINESS DESCRIPTION:
Located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, the Confederation Centre of the Arts is Canada’s only national memorial to the Fathers of Confederation. It is comprised of three theatre facilities and one of the largest conventions and meeting facilities on Prince Edward Island all within walking distance to major hotels and cultural attractions.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
“Something wonderful has happened in Charlottetown,” wrote theatre critic Nathan Cohen in 1965 about The Charlottetown Festival. From June to mid-October, this Festival of laughter and music features Canada’s finest performers, designers, playwrights, composers, and directors in a professional showcase of musical theatre, drama and comedy.

Since its premiere in 1965, over 2.25-million people have seen Canada’s longest-running musical, Anne of Green Gables-The Musical™, at The Charlottetown Festival. Make a night of it, with a reception before the show or perhaps after curtain call, and give your delegation the chance to experience the magic of theatre themselves.

MEETINGS & CONVENTION FACILITIES:
The Confederation Centre of the Arts offers one of the largest convention and meeting facilities on Prince Edward Island. Within walking distance from three major hotels and next to Province House, where the Fathers of Confederation met in 1864, the Centre can easily accommodate any function-from a reception for 25-1,500 to a banquet for 900.

The venue is also particularly well suited for exhibition and trade shows due to its expansive rooms and high ceilings. Unique features such as the marble-walled Memorial Hall, the elaborate 1,102 seat Homburg Theatre, the 200-seat cabaret Mack Theatre, and the intimate Studio Theatres make the Centre a leading choice for meetings and conventions.

Located at the corner of Queen & Richmond Streets, the building houses a black box theatre (multi-functional) a lower level gallery space that can accommodate any variety of activities, meetings, receptions and entertainment. And if atmosphere is important to your function, we can jazz up the space utilizing in-house professional lighting, a fully equipped sound system and various room configurations that best suit the client’s needs.

Our professional equipment includes concert audio & lighting, LCD projection, podiums, moveable staging and the professional staff to make it all work.

The Seaport Event Centre, formerly a Potato Warehouse, is situated in the heart of the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront. With 18,000 square feet of rental space the event center can accomodate a banquet for up to 600, receptions for up to 1,500 or up to 80 booths.
