A Little History...
It was April 1845 when William Bevan opened a tailoring business in the house at 193 Prince Street. At that time it was a cottage of one story and a half. He had a large circle of friends, was a beadle (a minor church official) and a choir member of Old St. Paul's Anglican Church, the oldest Protestant Church on the Island. William married Hannah Vesey in 1846. He died at the age of fifty-seven of bronchitis and left the house at 193 Prince Street to her - until her death or until she re-married (a common non-malicious procedure in Victorian times). Hannah did in fact re-marry in 1887 and the house was put up at public auction. Willam's son Job continued to operate the tailoring business at Hillsboro Street, just a few blocks away.

In honour of the first business at this site, we named this hotel The Tailor Shop Historic Hotel.

The West Point Lighthouse Inn is a recently renovated facility located along the North Cape Coastal Drive in West Point, Prince Edward Island. BUSINESS DESCRIPTION: Twin Shores Camping Area is Prince Edward Island’s largest accommodation with over 600 sites. Due to our unique location, it is also the only meeting facility on P.E.I. where guests can experience the 2 distinct and scenic shorelines our Island is known for, (white sand & red sand) in one place! If bringing an RV or staying in the over 20 onsite rental RV’s does not meet lodging needs, our central location is less than an hour from Charlottetown, and 25 minutes from both Cavendish and Summerside where more traditional accommodations are easily found. Whether it a group of 20 or 2000, Twin Shores Camping Area offers guests a memorable venue and an alternative to typical motel board rooms for conventions, meetings, or weddings.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Two beaches on the property. Our famous North Shore white sand beach is one of the finest on the Island and extends for miles in both directions. Our second beach is the red sand of Darnley Basin where beachcombing and clam digging pass the time.
